Matthews passion for racing began at the age of 2 when he was racing his grandmother around the back yard driving his electric car and she was on her scooter. Evolving over the years to dirt bikes at age 5, then four wheelers. His competition racing began at Music City Quarter midgets starting first in the rookie division and continuing to Heavy Honda competing both locally and nationally.

Moving on to Bandoleros Matthew grew as a driver with many top 10 finishes locally, regionally and nationally. Matthews love of racing continues on and off the track, when he is not in a car he is working in the shop with the team Crew Chief Joey Jones, or on iRacing honing his skills and learning new tracks.

In 2026 Matthew moves to the Young Lions Legend’s car program and will compete for local, regional and national championships. The plan is a year of Legends, followed by a year in Pro Late Models, and moving to ARCA series !
